Message from the 2021-2022 Day of Caring Chairperson
Doreen Ruggiero

The Day of Caring is entering its 20th year and although our method of delivery has changed, our commitment to the breast cancer community is the same. We realize that even during a worldwide pandemic people are being diagnosed and treated for breast cancer, and families and friends are providing support. In fact, it is more important than ever to provide an opportunity for cancer patients, survivors, and supporters to connect, as many of us are feeling the effects of isolation brought on by COVID-19.

Last year the Day of Caring entered the virtual world and began offering monthly sessions on Zoom. The sessions included a brief update on past models, educational speakers, demonstrations, and games for prizes.

Our dedicated Board of Directors contribute their time, expertise, energy, and talent to make the virtual sessions enlightening and entertaining while keeping them paired down to one hour.

After careful consideration, the Board of Directors made the difficult decision to continue offering sessions on Zoom for the 2021-2022 season. We all agreed that the safety of our attendees is paramount.

Lastly, we would like to thank you for supporting the Day of Caring and hope that we can come together in person in the very near future. Until then, please visit us at www.dayofcaringsfl.org to register for the latest information on upcoming events.

Your South Florida Day of Caring Chair,

Doreen Ruggiero
